Scope: Structural Facade Design of Skylight

Client: JRL Group Ltd.

The restoration of the old building comprised a new skylight above the main hallway. The skylight spans over 15m and utilizes tailor-made steel sections. The steel sections were subjected to an extensive optimization process resulting in 60% reduction of steel weight compared to the preliminary statics during tender phase. Maximizing the steel utilization was achieved through a meticulous geometric and material non-linear analysis utilizing advanced computational models and numerical solutions.
